A year of growing Plum Tree — detailed seasonal notes

Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Plum Tree:

Spring: fruitlet setting and development through summer. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on mulching around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds during this period which set up the rest of the year.

dual ornamental and productive value in a garden developed steadily through the warmer months. biennial bearing producing a heavy crop every other year appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a specimen tree as a garden focal point performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
