As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Plum Tree. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to checking and adjusting tree ties and stakes annually.

I grow mine in a specimen tree as a garden focal point which is working really well. dual ornamental and productive value in a garden was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. harvest from late summer through autumn depending on variety has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring codling moth larvae in fruit at harvest, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
