The unexpected joy of growing Plum Tree

I planted Plum Tree without expecting much and it's become one of the most satisfying things in my garden. dual ornamental and productive value in a garden is something I couldn't have predicted from looking at it in a nursery. You only understand it once the plant is established and performing.

I keep it in an orchard with mixed varieties for cross-pollination which is perfect for it. checking and adjusting tree ties and stakes annually was the thing I got lucky getting right early. harvest from late summer through autumn depending on variety stopped me in my tracks the first time I saw it. codling moth larvae in fruit at harvest is a real thing — just check regularly and deal with it quickly.
