Six months with Peach Tree — what I actually learned

I brought Peach Tree home six months ago with high hopes and almost no knowledge. The first challenge was understanding checking and adjusting tree ties and stakes annually — something I hadn't expected to matter so much. Once I got that right, the whole thing settled down.

I grow it in a specimen tree as a garden focal point and the position has been ideal. long productive lifespan of decades with good management is what keeps drawing me back to it. winter pruning while the tree is dormant was the moment that made me glad I persisted through the learning curve. One honest warning: fireblight bacterial disease affecting pears and apples caught me off guard in month two. Stay on top of it from the start.
