I had a serious problem with codling moth larvae in fruit at harvest on my Mango Tree earlier this year. Caught it late and had to work hard to bring the plant back. The experience was frustrating but educational.

Now that it's healthy again I can fully appreciate dual ornamental and productive value in a garden, which is remarkable. I've repositioned it in a fan-trained shape on a warm boundary fence and improved my attention to mulching around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. harvest from late summer through autumn depending on variety was the proof that the plant had fully recovered — genuinely beautiful. Moral of the story: inspect regularly and catch problems early.
