Beginner success with Lemon Tree — here is what helped

As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Lemon Tree. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to mulching around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

I grow mine in an orchard with mixed varieties for cross-pollination which is working really well. harvest of home-grown fruit with exceptional fresh flavour was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. winter pruning while the tree is dormant has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring fireblight bacterial disease affecting pears and apples, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
