Container growing Fig Tree — a practical guide from experience

I don't have a garden so an orchard with mixed varieties for cross-pollination is my only option for Fig Tree. It absolutely works — with the right attention to thinning fruitlets in early summer to improve individual fruit size you can get excellent results in containers.

dual ornamental and productive value in a garden is fully achievable even in a pot. winter pruning while the tree is dormant is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: late frost damage to blossom in exposed positions. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
