Slow start but a stunning finish with Fig Tree

The first few months with Fig Tree were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting formative pruning in the first three years to build good structure right was the turning point.

Displayed in a large half-barrel container on a sunny patio it gets the attention it deserves. harvest from late summer through autumn depending on variety was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: codling moth larvae in fruit at harvest. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
