I've grown several varieties within the Cherry Tree family and have some observations to share. dual ornamental and productive value in a garden varies noticeably between them, more than catalogue descriptions suggest. The care fundamentals are shared — checking and adjusting tree ties and stakes annually applies across all of them.

late frost damage to blossom in exposed positions affects some more than others, particularly in adverse conditions. I grow mine in an orchard with mixed varieties for cross-pollination which works well for most varieties. fruitlet setting and development through summer is the clearest moment of differentiation between varieties — that's when the character of each comes through. Worth growing a few side by side if you have the space.
