Where Avocado Tree is genuinely underrated is the beauty. harvest of home-grown fruit with exceptional fresh flavour is extraordinary when you see it in person. I display it in a sheltered south or west-facing garden wall as an espalier and it gets comments from everyone who sees it. harvest from late summer through autumn depending on variety is the time to really understand what this plant offers. Not for the truly neglectful gardener, but absolutely worth the attention it requires.
