I don't have a garden so a woodland garden understorey planting is my only option for Staghorn Fern. It absolutely works — with the right attention to removing dead fronds cleanly at the base in spring you can get excellent results in containers.

wide range from compact table plants to large architectural specimens is fully achievable even in a pot. full lush canopy through summer is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: root bound stunting in pots left too long without repotting. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
