The unexpected joy of growing Lady Fern
I planted Lady Fern without expecting much and it's become one of the most satisfying things in my garden. prehistoric elegance with delicate layered fronds is something I couldn't have predicted from looking at it in a nursery. You only understand it once the plant is established and performing.
I keep it in a hanging basket in a cool bathroom which is perfect for it. positioning in shade or dappled light away from direct sun was the thing I got lucky getting right early. early emergence from the soil before most other plants in spring stopped me in my tracks the first time I saw it. crown death from frost on tender varieties is a real thing — just check regularly and deal with it quickly.
