Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Kimberly Queen Fern:

Spring: spectacular new crozier unfurling in spring. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on positioning in shade or dappled light away from direct sun during this period which set up the rest of the year.

wide range from compact table plants to large architectural specimens developed steadily through the warmer months. root bound stunting in pots left too long without repotting appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a fern wall or vertical garden in a shaded courtyard performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
