The care secret that transformed my Bird's Nest Fern

I'd had Bird's Nest Fern for about eight months with acceptable but unremarkable results. Then I started really paying attention to misting the fronds in dry centrally heated rooms and the difference over the next two months was dramatic.

prehistoric elegance with delicate layered fronds became much more pronounced. The plant in a shaded north-facing border under trees now looks like a completely different specimen. frond dieback in winter for deciduous species confirmed that I'd finally unlocked what this plant can do. root bound stunting in pots left too long without repotting has been less of a problem since I got the overall conditions right. If your Bird's Nest Fern is underwhelming, look at misting the fronds in dry centrally heated rooms first.
