The propagation success I didn't expect with Bunny Ears Cactus
I started with one Bunny Ears Cactus and now have four, all from propagation. The process is straightforward once you understand protecting from frost below -5°C even for hardy varieties — something I picked up from trial and error rather than any guide.
I display them in a greenhouse or conservatory staging which shows off architectural sculptural form that needs no flowers to impress at its best. rapid growth during the warm summer months is when they're most impressive. scarring from cold water splash on the skin has been my main challenge across all of them, but it's manageable now that I know what to look for. A genuinely generous plant if you let it be.
