Three things I wish someone had told me before growing Asiatic Lily

After growing Asiatic Lily for over a year here is what I'd tell a beginner.

First: lifting and drying tender bulbs before autumn frosts is not optional — it's the foundation everything else depends on. Second: blindness with no flowers produced from weak or immature bulbs will happen and you should know how to handle it before it does. Third: a container for a doorstep or patio display genuinely matters — the right position unlocks some of the earliest colour in the garden after winter in a way a poor position never will. planting new bulbs in autumn for next year's display is the payoff for getting all of this right. It's worth every bit of effort.
