I don't have a garden so a mixed border with later-emerging perennials to hide dying foliage is my only option for Asiatic Lily. It absolutely works — with the right attention to leaving foliage to die back naturally after flowering you can get excellent results in containers.

increasing clump size year on year when well established is fully achievable even in a pot. earliest crocuses and snowdrops emerging in late winter is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: bulb rot from waterlogging in poorly drained soil. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
