Overrated for ease, underrated for beauty — Pine Bonsai

People describe Pine Bonsai as easy and I'd push back on that slightly. repotting every two to three years with root pruning needs consistent attention and root bound decline from leaving in the same pot too long can undermine progress quickly if ignored.

Where Pine Bonsai is genuinely underrated is the beauty. deeply personal relationship between artist and tree is extraordinary when you see it in person. I display it in a dedicated display stand at eye level for appreciation and it gets comments from everyone who sees it. repotting temperate species in early spring before buds break is the time to really understand what this plant offers. Not for the truly neglectful gardener, but absolutely worth the attention it requires.
