Beginner success with Juniper Bonsai — here is what helped
As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Juniper Bonsai. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to watering daily in summer as bonsai pots dry out fast.
I grow mine in a Japanese-inspired garden display with gravel and stone which is working really well. miniaturisation of full-grown tree characteristics was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. autumn colour on deciduous species before leaf fall has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring root bound decline from leaving in the same pot too long, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
