Juniper Bonsai seasonal highlights — a year in review

I've been growing Juniper Bonsai for a full year now and want to capture what each season offered. repotting temperate species in early spring before buds break was the clear high point — everything you're told about Juniper Bonsai at that time of year is true. But the plant has something to offer in every season, which I hadn't expected.

deeply personal relationship between artist and tree is consistent throughout the year, which is one of its real strengths. I've settled on a Japanese-inspired garden display with gravel and stone as the ideal position. wiring branches during the growing season while wood is flexible was the lesson I took into next year. root bound decline from leaving in the same pot too long is the only thing that interrupted the enjoyment. Otherwise: excellent.
