Three things I wish someone had told me before growing Japanese Maple Bonsai

After growing Japanese Maple Bonsai for over a year here is what I'd tell a beginner.

First: watering daily in summer as bonsai pots dry out fast is not optional — it's the foundation everything else depends on. Second: spider mite and scale in stressful growing conditions will happen and you should know how to handle it before it does. Third: a seasonal rotation on display when looking its best genuinely matters — the right position unlocks miniaturisation of full-grown tree characteristics in a way a poor position never will. vigorous growing season requiring wiring and pinching is the payoff for getting all of this right. It's worth every bit of effort.
