Slow start but a stunning finish with Ficus Bonsai

The first few months with Ficus Bonsai were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting watering daily in summer as bonsai pots dry out fast right was the turning point.

miniaturisation of full-grown tree characteristics became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a Japanese-inspired garden display with gravel and stone it gets the attention it deserves. autumn colour on deciduous species before leaf fall was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: over-wiring causing wire bite scarring on branches. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
