The care secret that transformed my Chinese Elm Bonsai

I'd had Chinese Elm Bonsai for about eight months with acceptable but unremarkable results. Then I started really paying attention to wiring branches during the growing season while wood is flexible and the difference over the next two months was dramatic.

miniaturisation of full-grown tree characteristics became much more pronounced. The plant in a dedicated display stand at eye level for appreciation now looks like a completely different specimen. vigorous growing season requiring wiring and pinching confirmed that I'd finally unlocked what this plant can do. drying out and death from missing a day's watering in summer has been less of a problem since I got the overall conditions right. If your Chinese Elm Bonsai is underwhelming, look at wiring branches during the growing season while wood is flexible first.
