Pest battle with Lucky Bamboo — and how I won
I had a serious problem with die-back after mass flowering which occurs once per lifetime on my Lucky Bamboo earlier this year. Caught it late and had to work hard to bring the plant back. The experience was frustrating but educational.
Now that it's healthy again I can fully appreciate rapid establishment and fast vertical growth, which is remarkable. I've repositioned it in a poolside or water feature surrounding planting and improved my attention to removing the oldest and most congested canes each spring. cane hardening and leafing out through summer was the proof that the plant had fully recovered — genuinely beautiful. Moral of the story: inspect regularly and catch problems early.
