Six months with Heavenly Bamboo — what I actually learned

I brought Heavenly Bamboo home six months ago with high hopes and almost no knowledge. The first challenge was understanding removing the oldest and most congested canes each spring — something I hadn't expected to matter so much. Once I got that right, the whole thing settled down.

I grow it in a poolside or water feature surrounding planting and the position has been ideal. beautiful sound of canes moving in wind is what keeps drawing me back to it. foliage refresh as older leaves shed in late winter was the moment that made me glad I persisted through the learning curve.
