The propagation success I didn't expect with Heavenly Bamboo
I started with one Heavenly Bamboo and now have four, all from propagation. The process is straightforward once you understand removing the oldest and most congested canes each spring — something I picked up from trial and error rather than any guide.
I display them in a poolside or water feature surrounding planting which shows off beautiful sound of canes moving in wind at its best. new shoot emergence in spring growing at remarkable speed is when they're most impressive. die-back after mass flowering which occurs once per lifetime has been my main challenge across all of them, but it's manageable now that I know what to look for. A genuinely generous plant if you let it be.
