Slow start but a stunning finish with Heavenly Bamboo

The first few months with Heavenly Bamboo were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting feeding with a high-nitrogen fertiliser in early spring right was the turning point.

beautiful sound of canes moving in wind became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a privacy screen along a boundary fence it gets the attention it deserves. cane hardening and leafing out through summer was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: running bamboo spreading beyond its intended boundary. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
