Beginner success with Golden Bamboo — here is what helped
As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Golden Bamboo. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to feeding with a high-nitrogen fertiliser in early spring.
I grow mine in a focal point specimen in a large container which is working really well. exceptional tensile strength in the cane structure was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. foliage refresh as older leaves shed in late winter has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring yellowing leaves from drought or nitrogen deficiency, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
