Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Giant Bamboo:

Spring: foliage refresh as older leaves shed in late winter. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on installing a root barrier for running bamboo before planting during this period which set up the rest of the year.

rapid establishment and fast vertical growth developed steadily through the warmer months. yellowing leaves from drought or nitrogen deficiency appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a focal point specimen in a large container performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
