Slow start but a stunning finish with Arrow Bamboo
The first few months with Arrow Bamboo were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting removing the oldest and most congested canes each spring right was the turning point.
beautiful sound of canes moving in wind became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a focal point specimen in a large container it gets the attention it deserves. cane hardening and leafing out through summer was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: die-back after mass flowering which occurs once per lifetime. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
