The propagation success I didn't expect with Lotus
I started with one Lotus and now have four, all from propagation. The process is straightforward once you understand dividing overcrowded plants every two or three years in spring — something I picked up from trial and error rather than any guide.
I display them in a stream edge or bog garden which shows off essential habitat and breeding ground for pond wildlife at its best. peak flowering period in midsummer is when they're most impressive. frost damage on tender varieties left in shallow water has been my main challenge across all of them, but it's manageable now that I know what to look for. A genuinely generous plant if you let it be.
