I've been growing Hornwort for a full year now and want to capture what each season offered. foliage die-back and pond tidying in autumn was the clear high point — everything you're told about Hornwort at that time of year is true. But the plant has something to offer in every season, which I hadn't expected.

cooling visual effect and microclimate benefit in summer is consistent throughout the year, which is one of its real strengths. I've settled on a stream edge or bog garden as the ideal position. dividing overcrowded plants every two or three years in spring was the lesson I took into next year. root-eating by water lily aphids or china mark moth is the only thing that interrupted the enjoyment. Otherwise: excellent.
