Container growing Cattail — a practical guide from experience
I don't have a garden so a half-barrel water garden for a small patio is my only option for Cattail. It absolutely works — with the right attention to positioning at the correct water depth for the species you can get excellent results in containers.
natural filtration improving water clarity and quality is fully achievable even in a pot. peak flowering period in midsummer is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: overrunning the pond surface in productive warm summers. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
