Beginner success with Anacharis — here is what helped
As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Anacharis. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to removing dying foliage in autumn before it rots and reduces water quality.
I grow mine in a natural wildlife pond with naturalistic marginal planting which is working really well. natural filtration improving water clarity and quality was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. first leaf pads emerging at the water surface in spring has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring frost damage on tender varieties left in shallow water, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
