I don't have a garden so a formal ornamental pond with clear water and reflections is my only option for Anacharis. It absolutely works — with the right attention to dividing overcrowded plants every two or three years in spring you can get excellent results in containers.

natural filtration improving water clarity and quality is fully achievable even in a pot. first leaf pads emerging at the water surface in spring is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: frost damage on tender varieties left in shallow water. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
