Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Tillandsia Xerographica:

Spring: flowering triggered by lengthening days in spring or summer. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on shaking off excess water after soaking to prevent rot at the base during this period which set up the rest of the year.

completely soil-free growth from atmospheric moisture and nutrients developed steadily through the warmer months. scale insects or mealybug in the leaf bases appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a glass globe or terrarium with open ventilation performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
