I've been growing plants seriously for over fifteen years and Tillandsia Xerographica remains a reliable favourite. For anyone starting out: the most critical thing is misting more frequently in hot dry indoor conditions. Everything else follows from that.

bleaching and burning from direct summer sun is the challenge that trips up most beginners and some experienced growers too. I've been growing mine in a decorative driftwood or cork bark mount for three seasons now and the results are consistently good. surprisingly tough once watering rhythm is established is what makes it worth coming back to year after year. flowering triggered by lengthening days in spring or summer is when I show it off — it earns its place fully then.
