Beginner success with Tillandsia Capitata — here is what helped
As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Tillandsia Capitata. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to misting more frequently in hot dry indoor conditions.
I grow mine in a decorative driftwood or cork bark mount which is working really well. completely soil-free growth from atmospheric moisture and nutrients was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. most vigorous growth in warm humid summer months has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring scale insects or mealybug in the leaf bases, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
