A year of growing Tillandsia Bulbosa — detailed seasonal notes
Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Tillandsia Bulbosa:
Spring: pup production after flowering creating a new clump. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on providing bright indirect light or outdoor shade in summer during this period which set up the rest of the year.
completely soil-free growth from atmospheric moisture and nutrients developed steadily through the warmer months. base rot from water not drying within four hours of soaking appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in grouped together in a bowl as a centrepiece performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
