Watched it blind and was blown away

I went into Inside Out knowing nothing — no trailer, no plot summary. I strongly recommend that approach. The emotional complexity hits much harder when you haven't been primed for it. Go in cold.

The score elevates every scene

The music in Inside Out is so deeply married to the images that you almost can't separate them. It stays in your head days later and when you hear it again the emotions return immediately.

The craft behind this film is astonishing

Every choice in Inside Out feels deliberate. The framing, the pacing, Joy finally understanding Sadness — Pete Docter is operating at a level most filmmakers never reach. It's the kind of film you study rather than just watch.

The ending is divisive for a reason

Inside Out commits to a conclusion that not everyone will appreciate. I found it perfectly right — it refuses easy comfort. If you want tidy resolution you may be frustrated. If you want truth, it delivers.

The cinematography alone is worth it

Whatever you think of the story, Inside Out is one of the most visually extraordinary films ever shot. There are frames here that belong in a gallery. Worth seeing on the biggest screen possible.

Overrated but still very good

Inside Out has been praised so heavily that no film could live up to the hype completely. It's an excellent film — the conceptual originality is genuinely remarkable — but it's not the untouchable masterpiece some claim.

Dated in some ways but still powerful

Some elements of Inside Out show their age, but the core of it — the necessity of sadness, the emotional intelligence for children and adults — hasn't diminished at all. Films this good age better than almost anything else.
