Honest verdict on Goi Cuon — good but not exceptional

Goi Cuon here was solidly made — light and herbal without anything to complain about. star anise broth was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Vietnamese cuisine shows French colonial influence alongside traditional Southeast Asian techniques. The a Hoi An restaurant atmosphere was pleasant enough. lime soda was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Goi Cuon this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
