Honest verdict on Bun Bo Hue — good but not exceptional

Bun Bo Hue here was solidly made — fresh with citrus and mint without anything to complain about. rice paper was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

fresh herbs added at the table are a defining characteristic. The a street banh mi counter atmosphere was pleasant enough. bia hoi draught beer was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Bun Bo Hue this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
