Decent Cachapas — nothing more, nothing less
Cachapas at this place was fine. The sweet-savoury from cornmeal base flavour was there but not distinguished. papelón brown sugar was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.
the arepa is Venezuela's daily bread — eaten at all meals in countless configurations. The a Caracas arepera setting was generic rather than immersive. chicha de arroz was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Cachapas it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
