Honest verdict on Varenyky — good but not exceptional

Varenyky here was solidly made — rich and warming without anything to complain about. sour cream was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

many dishes are tied to Orthodox religious calendar. The a village-style restaurant atmosphere was pleasant enough. smetana was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Varenyky this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
