Best Lahmacun I've had — and I've tried a few
Having eaten Lahmacun at several restaurants over the past year, I can say this version is the best. The warmly spiced and complex quality is more pronounced here than anywhere else I've tried. Turkish red pepper paste is handled with real knowledge — you can taste the difference.
This is proper a traditional Ottoman-style restaurant cooking, not an adaptation for foreign tastes. raki anise spirit was the obvious choice and the combination was perfect. Turkish cuisine bridges Central Asian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean influences. Would return for this dish alone.
