Honest verdict on Ojja — good but not exceptional
Ojja here was solidly made — deeply savoury without anything to complain about. dried rose petals was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.
Tunisia is the world's third largest olive oil producer and olive oil underpins the cuisine. The a seaside fish restaurant atmosphere was pleasant enough. boukha fig spirit was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Ojja this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
