First time trying Assida — completely converted
I had never tried Assida before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The bright with preserved lemon taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. preserved lemon is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.
The a family couscous Friday setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. Tunisian cuisine is the spiciest of the Maghreb cuisines thanks to the importance of harissa. My server recommended fresh lemon juice alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Assida. Outstanding first encounter.
