Underwhelming Gua Bao — expected more

I was looking forward to Gua Bao here based on the reputation. The reality was disappointing. The subtly sweet and aromatic character that makes this dish special was muted — either from shortcuts with soy-braised pork or from scaling up production at the expense of quality.

bubble tea was invented in Taiwan and exported globally as one of the most influential food trends of recent decades. The a family dumpling house setting I was hoping for wasn't quite there either. soy milk warm was available but not suggested appropriately. I've had much better versions elsewhere. Two stars because the dish concept is sound; the execution let it down.
