Decent Watalappam — nothing more, nothing less

Watalappam at this place was fine. The fiery and aromatic flavour was there but not distinguished. Ceylon cinnamon was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

Sri Lankan cuisine differs markedly between Sinhalese, Tamil, and Burgher traditions on the same island. The a family hoppers breakfast setting was generic rather than immersive. arrack was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Watalappam it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
