Cultural discovery through Hoppers
Hoppers opened a door into a cuisine I'd previously known almost nothing about. The deeply coconut-rich flavours are unlike anything in my usual rotation and I mean that positively. Sri Lankan cuisine differs markedly between Sinhalese, Tamil, and Burgher traditions on the same island. Understanding that context made the dish taste different — richer with meaning.
